From Mr C Elliott, Head Teacher
"Paulo has run an after school football club at Navenby for two years now. His friendly and passionate approach has provided the children with the supportive environment from which to flourish.
He engages the children through his interactive training methods, always encouraging them to do their best throughout. Every child’s abilities are celebrated with the emphasis always being on fun. Not only are children taught how to develop their individual skills, they are also taught about the importance of sportsmanship, values and team work. Our children enjoy his sessions and look forward to them every week. Their positive attitudes towards all sports are seen in school PE sessions and in their general play. Paulo’s dedication to children enjoying the game of football (and physical activity in general) has been a support to our school’s overall aims regarding personal physical, and wider sporting, achievements."

Joining a club or taking part in sporting activities after school can make a huge difference to children's physical and mental wellbeing. Doing something active and productive after school gives children a necessary outlet, which can be really beneficial if they've had a bit of a challenging day in school.
Learning and development aren’t always things that happen in school, a lot of a child’s development can happen outside of school hours. After school activities are a fantastic way for children to carry on their development outside of school while having fun
While all schools will teach children physical education, sports outside of school allow your child some independence in choosing which sport they want to focus on and help with physical development. Beyond keeping children fit and healthy, as an after school activity sports can help children develop socially as they play with a team, develop a healthy sense of competition and develop fast thinking and understanding of rules.
